Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

WUNC Radio provides quality news, information and entertainment programming to a broad listening audience that includes North Carolina, the United States and the world. WUNC serves North Carolinians from Greensboro to the Outer Banks through a network of ten stations.

Position Summary

This position will provide technical support and/or programming to staff which may include installing and configuring computer hardware, software, networks, printers, and scanners, diagnosing, and solving hardware/software issues and analyzing any underlying issues as necessary. This position will also carry out project management of IT systems upgrades, migrations and organization.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role;
  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role;
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution;
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Journey level required an additional one year of experience
  • Advanced level required an additional two years of experience.
Management Preferences
  • Knowledge of Windows OS installation with troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP setups for computers, printers
  • Knowledge of audio studio equipment
  • Ability to research issues and projects
  • Experience in standard office software, PC and Mac OS or hardware
Special Physical/Mental Requirements

Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50lbs with or without accommodation, and negotiate ladders.
