Job Description
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot district owned client computers/peripherals and related network/interface connectivity. Including but not limited to: laptops, desktops, tablets, thin clients, phones, virtual computers, printers (network/serial connected), document cameras, scanners, and monitors
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot room presentation equipment and related network/interface connectivity. Including but not limited to: interactive whiteboards/displays, digital signage, projectors, TVs, and audio systems
- Basic installation of rack mounted IT infrastructure equipment
- Answers telephone, provides immediate technical assistance if possible, refers calls to appropriate persons or creates a work order request for additional on-site support
- Follows established procedures for processing IT support requests, documents in-progress and completed work, and closes support tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Utilize department vans to pick up and deliver computer equipment to sites as needed
- Support special programs and meetings as needed including special equipment pick up, delivery, and setup
- Assists in the selection process for IT supported equipment
- Processes surplus equipment at assigned locations
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

Position SummaryThe goal of the IT Technician II is to provide on-site technical support for schools in accordance with district standards and at the direction of the central IT department support apparatus.

- Required
- High School diploma
- Valid NC driver's license
- Minimum two year of experience and/or equivalent training working with the following:
- Operating Systems:
Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, ipadOS, Android - Computer Hardware: PC Compatible/Apple Computers, Tablet hardware
- Common user software:
Microsoft Office, Google Workspace Apps, ERP softwares - Peripheral/AV Hardware:
Document/Web cameras, Printers, Projectors, room audio systems
- Operating Systems:
- Minimum one year experience and/or equivalent training operating computers and software in a networked environment
- Preferred
- College degree or graduation from a technical school (2 year minimum)
- Strong knowledge of core technologies including but not limited to:
Active Directory (AD), Azure, Exchange, WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi, VOIP, Core Networking, Cloud Services, UDM technologies - Experience with the following brands and systems: SMART Technologies, Mimio, Vivi, Airtame, Epson, Lightspeed, BEAM, Lenovo, Filewave, Meraki, Sherpa desk, and Cisco
- Educational environment experience
- ITIL training
- Solid understanding of basic troubleshooting of device connectivity and physical wiring
