Travel Medical-Surgical RN in Chapel Hill, NC

A leadership-driven registered nurse position is available on a 29-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in adult through geriatric care, including orthopedic and telemetry patients.

This role offers the opportunity to work nights in a fast-paced environment that supports patient mobility with an on-unit physical therapy gym. The unit commonly treats total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties, and various surgical and medical patients requiring inpatient or observation care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Float as needed to support unit staffing requirements.
• Serve in Charge RN capacity during assigned shifts, ensuring effective team leadership and patient care coordination.
• Adhere to strict punctuality and attendance policies.
• Successfully pass the required EKG competency exam.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience is mandatory.
• Current Registered Nurse license with a focus in Medical-Surgical nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• Proven experience as Charge RN is essential.
• Flexibility to work a schedule of 3 twelve-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m.
  
  - 7:30 a.m.) plus every other weekend.
• Ability to comply with mandatory pre-employment requirements and deadlines.

Schedule:

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week.
• Every other weekend coverage.
• No on-call responsibilities.
