Position: Travel Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) | Chapel Hill, North Carolina
A demanding travel nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs with expertise in medical-surgical and orthopedic trauma care. This role provides an exciting chance to apply your skills in a dynamic hospital setting, focusing on pre-op and post-op orthopedic patients, including elective and trauma cases.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage care for orthopedic trauma and elective surgery patients, including total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs.
  • Utilize specialized orthopedic equipment such as CPM machines, knee immobilizers, bone foam, and safe patient handling devices.
  • Provide acute nursing care with involvement in rapid response teams.
  • Maintain a 1:6 nurse-patient ratio, with potential stretch to 1:7.
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records.
  • Work 3x12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) on an every-other-week schedule, including one holiday and one holiday eve shift.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience; travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers).
  • Current BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Proven orthopedic and trauma nursing experience.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and absences.
  • Ability to pass a required EKG exam.
  • Familiarity with rapid response team protocols and safety equipment.

  • Strict scheduling expectations; candidates must be flexible and compliant with client requirements.
  • Compliance documents must be completed by the specified deadline.
