Position: Staff Development Coordinator AL

100 Whippoorwill Ln, Chapel Hill, NC 27517, USA

Job Description

Carolina Meadows, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is one of the nation's foremost continuing-care retirement communities. Our mission is to enrich and improve the lives of residents and those connected to our community. We do this by continuously striving to be the best place to live and work.

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic RN Staff Development Coordinator to lead clinical training for our expanding assisted living and skilled nursing communities. You will spearhead onboarding and education for our "small house" model as we open our brand-new skilled nursing building this September.

Position Overview

In this vital leadership role, you will shape the future of person-centered care at our premier Chapel Hill continuing-care retirement community. You will be responsible for equipping our caregiving teams with the specialized skills and compassionate training needed to excel in our newly constructed residential care environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training & Onboarding: Design and implement comprehensive orientation and continuous educational training programs for new and existing clinical staff.
  • Small House Model Leadership: Champion our unique, highly-personalized "small house" philosophy, ensuring caregivers understand the resident-centric, neighborhood-based care approach.
  • Assisted Living Excellence: Develop targeted, ongoing educational curriculum to elevate the quality of life, dignity, and independence of our assisted living residents.
  • Compliance & Development: Ensure all training aligns with state and federal health regulations. Oversee the Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP).
Qualifications
  • License: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of progressive nursing experience in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing. Previous experience in staff development, education, or clinical instruction is strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, presentation, and interpersonal abilities. Deep understanding of geriatric care and person-directed models of support.
Why Join Carolina Meadows?

Consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a premier retirement community, we pride ourselves on a highly collaborative, compassionate, and resident-focused environment. We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to build the culture and training foundation of a beautiful new care facility from the ground up.
