RN Clinical Nurse II - 5 Childrens Hematology/Oncology/Intermediate Unit

UNC Medical Center is hiring an Experienced RN for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Intermediate Unit.

5 Children's is a 24 bed acute and intermediate care unit dedicated to comprehensive, family-centered care of pediatric hematology, oncology, bone marrow transplant, and cardiac patients. We also provide care for general medicine and surgical patients. The patients on this unit range from birth through adolescence and sometimes into early adulthood.

Position details:

  • 36 hours per week with day/night rotation
  • Weekend rotation
  • Holiday rotation
  • Flexible self-scheduling

While pediatric experience is preferred, it is not required. We offer comprehensive training that includes pediatric perspectives, preparing you to deliver the highest quality care to this unique patient population.

Summary:

Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Education Requirements:

Graduation from a school of professional nursing. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification

Professional Experience Requirements:
One (1) year of nursing experience.
