American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring at least one year of nursing experience and NC RN licensure in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
Details- 20-bed Pediatric ICU that is part of a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
- Patient population includes trauma, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, surgery, oncology, solid organ transplant, burn, and various medical specialties
- Eight beds are designated for specialized pediatric cardiac care
- Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 2-3 patients
- Shared staffing model between the Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) and Pediatric ICU (PICU) located adjacent to one another
- Flexibility to float between the PCICU and PICU units is required
- Variable rotating shift schedule
- 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
- Provide care for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the patient care plan
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Contribute to unit performance improvement activities and goals
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
