American Traveler is hiring an RN-Apheresis to perform therapeutic apheresis procedures in a Transfusion Medicine Service setting, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact)
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Hospital-based Transfusion Medicine Service unit performing therapeutic apheresis procedures including plasma exchange, red blood cell exchange, and HPC stem cell collections
- Supports renal, pulmonary, and BMT patient programs
- Treats both adult and pediatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Majority of patients are accessed via ports, with some peripheral access required
- Primary equipment used is the Optia apheresis system
- Day shift schedule, 7a-330p, 40 hours per week
- On-call required every 4th weekend, including one on-call night, for emergent cases when clinic is closed
- Clinic is closed on weekends and holidays except for on‑call emergent cases
- Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional nursing standards
- Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
- Performs bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Engages in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
