American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a shared staffing model between the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Cardiac ICU, requiring PALS certification and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details- 20-bed Pediatric ICU that is part of a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
- Patient population includes trauma, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, oncology, solid organ transplant, burn, and various medical specialties
- 8 beds designated for specialized pediatric cardiac care
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Flexibility required to work between the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Cardiac ICU, located adjacent to one another
- Night shift schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am
- 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call requirements
- Active RN license (NC or compact) required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Deliver competent clinical nursing care to pediatric ICU and cardiac ICU patients consistent with professional standards
- Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
- Participate in discharge planning and family/patient education
- Support unit goals and performance improvement activities
