American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric ICU/Cardiac ICU position requiring a NC or compact RN license and PALS certification in a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.

• Work in a combined 20-bed PICU and 13-bed PCICU within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient population includes infants to age 18 across medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, oncology, transplant, burn, and neuro cases
• Unit offers ECMO and CRRT, with 8 PICU beds designated for cardiac patients
• Shared staffing model between PICU and PCICU requires flexibility to work across both units
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity
• Variable rotating shift schedule at 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call requirements

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact) required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care for patients with complex medical, surgical, and cardiac needs
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the care plan
• Participate in discharge planning and family education
• Support unit performance improvement initiatives and cost-effective care practices
