Post-Doc Research Associate - Wang Lab

Position Summary

The Wang Lab is recruiting a postdoctoral research associate with expertise in computational genomics and bioinformatics focusing on long‑read sequencing analysis. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing NIH‑funded research analyzing nanopore DNA and RNA sequencing in the context of variant calling and analysis to support molecular diagnostics in pediatric cancer. A primary focus will be development of novel informatics tools for multi‑scale variant calling, integration, and interpretation of variants in nanopore DNA sequencing, including SNVs, CNVs, SVs, and epigenomic markers.

• PhD in a biological or physical science, or closely related field.

• Demonstrated expertise in computational analysis of long‑read sequencing data (e.g., ONT, Pacbio), including variant calling (SNV, copy‑number profiling, structural variation), quality control, and interpretation of germline and somatic variants.

• 1 year of experience in computational genomics and molecular diagnostics.
• Microbiome/metagenomic sequencing analysis experience is a plus.
