Position OverviewThe Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is a cornerstone role position is responsible for expertly assisting customers in person, over the phone and through email. ISR’s also provides critical sales support to Outside Sales Representatives. ISR’s ensure that every quote, order, delivery, and follow‑up is handled accurately and professionally.
Key Responsibilities- Customer & Client Support: serve as a primary point of contact for walk‑in customers, contractors, and homeowners.
- Respond promptly to inquiries in‑person, by phone, email, and digital platforms.
- Provide product recommendations, pricing, quotations, and availability.
- Follow up with customers on satisfaction and obtain Google Reviews.
- Sales & Order Management: prepare accurate quotes, sales orders, work orders, and invoices.
- Process special orders and coordinate vendor purchasing.
- Coordinate deliveries, pick‑ups, credits, returns, and resolve payment questions.
- Maintain accurate records and support inventory integrity.
- Support Outside Sales Associates (OSR’s) with quotes, order entry, scheduling, and follow‑ups.
- Operate cash register, credit card terminal and assist with loading materials as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Minimum 1 year experience in building materials or related sales.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of lumber and building materials is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Office and showroom‑based with occasional physical activity including lifting and light material handling. Some job‑site visits or trade events may be required. The ideal candidate is personable, detail‑oriented, and able to build rapport quickly while working closely with a team.
CompensationHourly rate with monthly bonus on gross sales.
