Our story is a love affair. In 1983, a mother and her two daughters, Lee, Susan, and Frances Gravely, traveled to Italy and fell in love with the country’s culture, its people, and the handcrafted dinnerware that graced their table at the San Pietro Hotel in Positano. The next day they visited the artisans of Vietri sul Mare, watching as each piece was painted, glazed, and fired by hand.

They returned home with a collection inspired by nature, which became Campagna, VIETRI’s flagship dinnerware.

Today, VIETRI is America’s largest importer of handcrafted Italian ceramics, partnering with family-owned workshops across Italy to bring the beauty, warmth, and artistry of the Italian lifestyle into homes around the world. Every piece tells a story: of the artisan who shaped it, the centuries of tradition behind it, and the gatherings it will one day host.

In 2026, VIETRI opens the doors to its first-ever flagship retail location in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This store is more than a shop. It is an immersive brand experience showcasing one-of-a-kind and handcrafted pieces sourced from Italy and the United States, designed to inspire the celebration of life with family and friends around the table.

VIETRI seeks an experienced, warm, and highly motivated Luxury Retail Sales Associate to join the team at our first flagship store in Chapel Hill, NC. This is a rare opportunity to help launch and shape the guest experience at a brand-new, one-of-a-kind retail destination.

As a Sales Associate, you will be the face of VIETRI: welcoming guests into our world, sharing the stories behind our collections and the artisans who make them, and guiding customers through meaningful purchases for their homes, their tables, and life’s most celebrated moments. You will deliver an exceptional, personalized shopping experience that reflects the artistry, hospitality, and warmth at the heart of the VIETRI brand.

The ideal candidate is a naturally engaging storyteller who is energized by genuine human connection, inspired by beautiful design and craftsmanship, and passionate about helping customers discover pieces they will treasure for a lifetime.

• Welcome every guest with genuine warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm, creating a memorable first impression of the VIETRI brand
• Build authentic, long-term relationships with customers by understanding their unique style, needs, and the moments they are celebrating
• Share the stories behind our collections, including the artisans, the craftsmanship, the regions of Italy, and the heritage of each design, becoming a trusted expert and brand ambassador
• Guide customers through product selections for everyday dining, entertaining, gift-giving, bridal and wedding registries, and special occasion purchases
• Identify customer needs, offer product features and benefits, and make thoughtful recommendations to enhance the shopping experience
• Achieve and exceed individual and store sales goals through genuine customer engagement and consultative selling
• Maintain and grow a personal client book; follow up with customers on wish-list items, new arrivals, and special orders
• Encourage customers to join the VIETRI Rewards Program and capture customer data to build lasting relationships
• Deliver an elevated level of hospitality that reflects the warmth and generosity of the Italian lifestyle
