The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the preparation and setup of science laboratory experiments, exams and activities on multiple GTCC Campuses. Other duties include, purchasing and taking inventory of supplies and materials, maintaining proper waste disposal in labs and maintaining/repairing equipment. The Science Laboratory coordinator works closely with faculty members and part-time laboratory assistants to both plan and improve the laboratories each week for class.
The incumbent must practice good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently.
Min Salary $51,292.31
Mid Salary $57,703.85 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.

Education Required- Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science (e.g., biology, chemistry, etc.) or a related field from an institutionally accredited college/university
- Bachelor’s degree with an academic concentration in microbiology, cellular/molecular biology or biochemistry from an institutionally accredited college/university
- OSHA chemical and biological hazard certifications.
- 3 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory environment.
- Experience with chemicals used in laboratory environments to include hazardous material disposal regulations.
- Experience with biological materials utilized in laboratory environments to include, microbes, cell culture and other live organisms.
- Managerial experience in a laboratory environment.
- Greater than 3 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory environment.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting; preferably in an academic setting.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Department/Job Specific Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- As this position supports multiple campuses, travel will be required.
- Evening and weekend hours may be required to fulfill some responsibilities.
The following (compliance) training is required and must be completed within the first 30 days of hire with annual refresher training thereafter:
