PositionFacilities Operations–Security/Maintenance Technician (Security/Maintenance 2nd shift: 4:00 pm–10:00 am)
We are looking for an experienced Security/Maintenance technician to support our community. Position requires at least 2 years prior security experience.
Summary / ObjectiveThis position is primarily responsible for providing safety and security procedures to the residents and staff of Carolina Meadows, with an emphasis on performing minor maintenance repairs. The role requires safe operation of company vehicles.

Security and Safety Functions- Provide safety and security to residents, visitors, and employees of Carolina Meadows.
- Patrol interior and exterior of the community; ensure all doors and windows are secure.
- Observe parking lot areas throughout campus to scan for unauthorized visitors. Escort individuals off campus as requested and notify authorities if necessary.
- Escort staff or visitors from buildings to personal vehicles during the evening as requested.
- Ensure all areas of the community comply with the security, safety, and fire requirements set by the state of North Carolina.
- Investigate all instances of property loss and any major incident; write thorough reports of findings.
- Maintain security logs to document activities.
- Conduct safety drills and assist fire and police officials in emergency situations.
- Direct others in the event of a disaster following Carolina Meadows’ Disaster Preparedness protocols.
- Respond to medical, fire, and emergency calls immediately.
- Lock and unlock specified doors on a routine basis as directed.
- Make independent decisions on when to call medical emergency personnel, fire and/or Sheriff’s Department.
- Read fire alarm panel and identify where the emergency alarm is coming from. Notify the fire department of the location and secure the area from staff, residents, and guests before authorities arrive. Reset panel when directed by fire department.
Assist in general maintenance duties, repairs, or requests on a need‑be basis.
- Assume the role of Maintenance Technician when requested.
- Aid in determining and resolving power outages throughout the community. Ensure light systems are working properly during the evening. Place work orders with Maintenance for repair.
- Remove snow during the winter; salt sidewalks and entrances throughout the community.
- Assist late‑night vendors or contractors when necessary.
- Aid and complete work orders from the previous shift as requested.
- Complete and sign off on work orders and return to the Administrative Assistant. Track and log all daily activities of maintenance and security.
