Welder

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Welder to support our waste management and recycling operations. In this role, you will weld, repair, and fabricate containers, compactors, and facility equipment used in solid and liquid waste services. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing MIG and stick welding, operating shop tools, and conducting safety-focused maintenance in a fast-paced industrial setting. You'll work closely with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime while upholding GFL's safety-first, environmentally responsible culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and stick welding to repair and fabricate containers, compactors, and facility equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to complete welding projects accurately
• Inspect waste-handling equipment, identify structural issues, and complete timely repairs
• Operate cutting torches, grinders, and related shop tools safely and efficiently
• Follow all safety, PPE, and environmental procedures in a waste-management environment
• Maintain clean, organized work area and complete required maintenance documentation
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repair work and minimize downtime
• Conduct quality checks on welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance with company standards
