City Council Appointment
Due to the resignation of a current City Council member, effective May 26, 2026 there is a vacant position on the Chardon City Council. City Council will make an appointment to fill the seat until a new permanent member is elected.
EligibilityApplicants must be a registered voter and a resident of the City of Chardon.
Application ProcessAll residents of the City of Chardon who wish to be considered should submit a resume and cover letter stating why they are interested in serving as a Council member. Applications should be sent to Amy Day, Clerk of Council at 111 Water Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024, by email to aday or hand delivered to the Clerk of Council’s office on the second floor of the Chardon Municipal Center.
All applications must be received by no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Special RequirementsApplicants should be prepared to be available on the evening of June 28, 2026 for interviews with City Council.
Salary and BenefitsMembers of Council are paid $6,000 per year in accordance with City Code 137.03. The appointee will be paid a pro‑rated amount based on the actual number of months worked.
