Radiology Tech Extender PRN (260005HV) Location
Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, OH
PRN- As needed (PRN)
- Shifts will vary
Provides support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transporting of patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety).
What You Will Do- Assist the Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, patient preparation and instruction. Communicate with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care.
- Facilitate patient care including lifting, transport, chaperone, and monitoring of patients.
- Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry including PAC system.
- Ensure the adequate availability of procedural supplies to include ordering and stocking patient care supply items.
- Follow hospital initiative in order to meet patient satisfaction goals.
- Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures.
- Follow hospital and department Core Values, SOPs, policies, and standards.
- Register and check‑in patients.
- Communicate with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- High School Equivalent / GED High School diploma (Required)
- Current Student of Radiologic Technology Program (Preferred)
- Less than 1 year of customer service experience (Required)
- Basic patient care skills (Required proficiency)
- Able to communicate effectively and interact with a diverse population across multiple generations (Required proficiency)
- Able to organize and adjust to changing workflow and patient care needs (Required proficiency)
- Good communication skills (Required proficiency)
- Patient care equipment specific to assigned population; telephone; nurse call system; pager; computers (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of PAC system and electronic health records (Required proficiency)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
