Ravenwood Health is hiring a full‑time Crisis Hotline Specialist to support the 988 24/7 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline team. If you are pursuing a career in social work, counseling, psychology, or human services, this role offers real‑world clinical experience that matters.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate telephonic crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, de‑escalation, emotional support, and connect callers to community resources.
  • Operate 24/7, 365 days per year under the supervision of the Crisis Services Supervisor.
  • Conduct suicide risk screenings and safety planning, and maintain HIPAA‑compliant documentation.
  • Co‑ordinate with Mobile Crisis, hospitals, and emergency services when necessary.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and continuing education.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming 988 crisis calls professionally and empathetically.
  • Complete suicide screenings and collaborative safety planning.
  • Utilize evidence‑informed de‑escalation strategies and provide warm transfers/referrals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and confidentiality.
  • Document calls in accordance with agency and OhioMHAS standards.
Required Education & Experience
  • Associate degree or high‑school diploma/GED with 2–3 years relevant crisis or behavioral health experience.
  • Strong verbal communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate under pressure.
  • Comfort discussing suicide and safety directly.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, hotline services, or behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Interest in suicide prevention and crisis response.
  • Eligibility for Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) status.
