General Production Worker - Chemical Operating
This role focuses on supporting a high-volume rubber and chemical manufacturing operation by loading and operating production machinery, packaging finished products, and handling materials safely and efficiently. You will work on an assembly line, assist with rubber cutting and additive packaging, and use material handling equipment to move and prepare products for shipment while following strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Load rubber materials into cutting machinery and monitor equipment during operation to ensure consistent output.
- Package rubber additives into bags and boxes according to specific weight, measurement, and labeling requirements.
- Work on an assembly line to package finished products, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to production schedules.
- Lift up to 60 pounds of product manually when required and use lifting equipment to move heavier or bulk materials safely.
- Wrap pallets of finished products securely and prepare them for storage or shipment.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move pallets and materials throughout the facility.
- Assist with machine operation tasks, including setup, basic adjustments, and monitoring for safe and efficient performance.
- Follow batch tickets, measurements, and instructions when working with mixers or blending equipment.
- Handle chemicals in accordance with safety procedures and training, including wearing required protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe operations and efficient workflow.
- Support manufacturing and production operations as needed, including general production and packaging duties.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues, follow directions, and support continuous production.
Essential Skills
- Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds semi-frequently and up to 60 pounds when required.
- Comfortable standing and being on your feet for the entirety of an 8-hour shift.
- Comfortable working with chemicals in a production environment.
- Ability and willingness to wear a respirator and hazmat suit for the entirety of the shift.
- Experience as a machine operator, manufacturing operator, production operator, or chemical operator.
- Packaging operations, including assembly line packaging of finished products.
- Experience with mixers, blending, or batch mixing processes.

Work Environment
You will work in a large, industrial chemical and rubber manufacturing facility that supplies chemicals and additives to a variety of industries, with a strong focus on the rubber sector. The environment involves working around production machinery, mixers, and packaging lines, as well as handling chemical materials under strict safety standards. Shifts typically run 8 hours, during which you will be on your feet for the majority of the time and may perform repetitive tasks.
You will use equipment such as pallet jacks, lifting devices, and potentially tow motors or forklifts. Personal protective equipment, including respirators and hazmat suits, is required and worn for the duration of the shift to ensure safe handling of chemicals and materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chardon, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.05 - $25.05/hr.
