Job Summary
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric care and medication management within a Detox and Residential Treatment Facility in Wisconsin. This role focuses on psychiatric evaluations, stabilization, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment for adults with substance use and co‑occurring mental health disorders. The PMHNP will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation for clinical support.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and ongoing mental health treatment
- Provide psychiatric medication management and monitor treatment response
- Diagnose and treat substance use disorders and co‑occurring mental health conditions
- Assist with psychiatric stabilization during detox and residential treatment
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Order and interpret labs, toxicology screens, and other diagnostics as clinically indicated
- Provide 24/7 on‑call psychiatric clinical support as scheduled
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff, therapists, medical providers, and interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation per Wisconsin DHS and licensing standards
- Participate in treatment planning, case reviews, and clinical team meetings
- Active Wisconsin APRN license in good standing
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Active DEA registration or ability to obtain
- Experience in detox, residential treatment, addiction medicine, or behavioral health preferred
- Strong knowledge of co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Experience with psychiatric medication management in higher‑acuity settings preferred
- Comfortable providing on‑call clinical guidance and support
- Full‑time or part‑time opportunities available
- Primarily daytime schedule
- 24/7 on‑call rotation required
- Structured detox and residential treatment environment
