Food & Consumables Coach

Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tours, teaches, and communicates across all levels regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads change efforts, sets clear expectations, and implements business solutions.

Models exceptional customer service standards to store associates, following the One Best Way (OBW) model, and manages customer service initiatives, including community programs. Drives financial performance and sales, reviews PL statements, budgets, forecasts, controls expenses, ensures merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Mitigates shrink and achieves sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision, hires, trains, and mentors associates, sets expectations, recognizes performance, and promotes a belonging mindset. Ensures compliance with company policies, supports the Open Door Policy, and upholds Walmart’s values of integrity, belonging, customer focus, and excellence.

Annual salary range: $65,000 - $80,000. Additional compensation includes performance bonuses. Additional components may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and Complex Structure.

• 2 years of college, or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience, or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific criminal background check and firearms authorized training.
• For facilities that sell ammunition and have state‑specific requirements, a current state‑issued certificate of eligibility.
• Associates required to attend and complete all mandatory trainings and assessments.

• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
• Certificate of completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
• General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
