Kelly Engineering is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer to hire an Automation Engineering Manager for their Charles City, Iowa facility.
This is a highly visible position responsible for providing technical leadership for site automation systems while supporting ongoing manufacturing operations, capital projects, system improvements, and future site growth.
This role is ideal for a senior automation engineer with strong Distributed Control System (DCS) experience who is ready to lead a team and serve as a key automation resource for the site.
What You’ll Do- Provide technical leadership for site automation systems
- Support manufacturing operations and process troubleshooting
- Lead automation-related capital projects and system upgrades
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and site leadership
- Manage and mentor automation engineering personnel
- Support automation strategy and future site expansion initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Hands-on automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting process manufacturing operations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead projects and provide technical leadership
- Pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated manufacturing experience
- Experience with batch manufacturing processes
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience supporting chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, or specialty manufacturing facilities
