Manufacturing Scheduler in Poultry
The Manufacturing Scheduler in Poultry is responsible for scheduling orders for production by working with supply chain to review the customer demand, agreeing with the process orders released by supply chain by ensuring the production labs and manpower can accommodate the requests to ensure the timely completion of the process orders. This role will also serve as a backup for the team leaders to help with colleague engagement and direction of the hourly workforce.
This individual will conduct all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Zoetis Values, & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), environmental guidelines as appropriate, etc.
Position Responsibilities:
- Review and understand the Poultry lab capacities and capabilities.
- Communicate with supply chain to understand and support fulfillment of Process orders.
- Understand the timing and importance of the process orders through SAP.
- Ensure the timely release of process orders through coordination with other departments as needed, such as Process Specialist, Quality, Regulatory, EHS, Finance, Maintenance, Capital project managers, and Operational Excellence specialist(s) as necessary to meet critical deadlines.
- Participate and be aware of the annual budget process and well as quarterly financial reviews.
- Managing multiple simultaneous production schedules along with creating long-term and short-term production schedules.
- Participation in floor and lab operations, clean room audits, department meetings, shift changes, etc.
- Must be flexible in daily start time to ensure salaried coverage across the shift is available for the operations.
- Must be available for on-call support in evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Communicate with the team leaders to support continuously improvement of production workflow, lab capabilities and the capabilities of the team.
- Participate in safety related investigations and monthly safety meetings.
- Participate and/or lead special projects as directed by area Manager/Team leader.
- Learn, understand, and support the completion of Manufacturing Batch Record Review and other applicable department documentation.
- Department Specific Responsibilities as indicated.
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree with 2-4 years of leadership experience OR BS/MS/MBA with 0-2 years of leadership experience OR Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a Biologics manufacturing site.
- Relevant manufacturing or analytical experience in microbiology, biology, engineering, or other scientific discipline. Demonstrated commitment to the Zoetis Core Beliefs and leadership competencies.
- Demonstrated ability to interact positively with all levels of colleagues including senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results.
- Knowledge of product flow through Poultry Manufacturing facilities and equipment capabilities and constraints is preferred.
- Strong analytical/problem resolution skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP Platform using MPS, MRP, and inventory management principles.
- Extensive knowledge and capabilities with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Extensive knowledge and capabilities with SAP Enterprise Resource System.
- Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and team/group interactive and leadership skills.
- Strong commitment to product quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of 9
CFR and EU regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). - Experience using Trackwise (Event Tracking System) Change Request and Investigation Writing software preferred but not required.
- Experience using Operational Excellence and problem-solving tools such as DMAIC and Minitab analytical software and knowledge of lean tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, walk or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to wear a respirator.
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.
- Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 25 lbs.
- Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
