JOB SUMMARY: The Grow Your Own Pathway Advisor oversees the implementation of the Grow Your Own educator preparation program and provides direct supervision and support to participating students. The advisor coordinates student recruitment, enrollment, progress monitoring, field experiences, and partnerships with colleges, universities, and school personnel. Through mentoring, coaching, and program management, the advisor helps students successfully complete pathway requirements while developing the skills, knowledge, and professional dispositions necessary for future careers in education.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the program supervisor and ensure that members are supported at the local level
• Arrange and assist with setting up field experiences in classrooms
• Assist with questions pertaining to classes at Shepherd University or Blue Ridge CTC
• Record and maintain member service hours
• Ensure members are progressing with their service goals
• Approve timesheets and ensure they are properly logged through the America Learns platform
• Perform mid-term and end-of-term evaluations of each member
• Ensure completion of member reports, including data collection, exit surveys, and final timesheets
• Attend and participate in training events
• Coordinate in-person site visits with the Education Alliance
• Complete other duties as deemed necessary

$2000.00 Stipend

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field required
• Expertise related to technology devices and applications such as online learning platforms and word processing software

• Strong organizational and communication skills employing tact, patience, and courtesy
