Description:

Summary/Objective:

Responsible for ensuring customer retention and the profitability of the company by recruiting qualified sales personnel, and assume responsibility for appraising, purchasing, reconditioning, displaying, and merchandising the used vehicle inventory.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruiting and training sales staff
  • Inventory management
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with staff, other departments, lenders and community leaders
  • Assisting sales staff as needed
  • Selling vehicles
  • Various other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
  • Sales Ability
    - Ability to build relationships with direct reports, company employees, lenders and community leaders;
    Possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Language Ability
    - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Math Ability
    - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Requirements:

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises approximately nine employees in the Sales Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
