Come join our team as a Shelter Case Manager! This is a full-time position, from 2pm-10pm, Monday-Friday.
Job Description:
Exempt. Full-time position. Position is primarily responsible for advocacy, case management and counseling for shelter clients and their dependent children.
Responsibilities
Cover Crisis HotlineComplete intakes and orientation for clients arriving in shelterEstablish safety plans with clients and review periodicallyEstablish goal plans with clients and assist them in obtaining and updating those goalsDocument all interactions with clients, crisis calls, etc.Provide limited transportation for both shelter and transitional housing clients.Conduct house meetings as neededComplete room checks as neededProvide advocacy and referrals for clients as neededImplement and monitor shelter policies and procedures to assure client safetyReport all emergencies to supervisorInform Supervisor of Shelter Operations of food supplies and inventoryAssist with fundraisersOffice duties such as filing, answering phones, and greeting the publicReport maintenance problems to supervisorUpdate and keep copies as needed of current forms for shelterUpdate and keep inventory of donationsParticipate in the on call rotation except shift 4-12 is excludedParticipate in shelter housekeeping, maintenance, office duties, etc.Accurately document shift conditions, challenges and anticipated questions in the staff logAssist with training new staffOther duties as assignedRequirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Must be responsible, mature, flexible, capable of handling crisis situations and willing to work with a wide variety of adults and their dependent children. 40 hour domestic violence training and successful completion of a background check required. Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance coverage preferred. The Shelter Case Manager must sign a confidentiality form indicating that the privacy of HOPE clients, staff and volunteers will be maintained.
