Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver evidence-based prevention education programs related to gambling disorder and gambling-related harms.
  • Conduct presentations, workshops, and training sessions for schools, community groups, employers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide information regarding risk factors, protective factors, warning signs, and available treatment resources.
  • Promote responsible gambling messaging and healthy decision-making skills.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, healthcare systems, faith-based organizations, and local businesses.
  • Represent the agency at community events, health fairs, conferences, and prevention initiatives.
  • Distribute educational materials and resources to target populations.
  • Increase public awareness of problem gambling prevention and available support services.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of gambling prevention initiatives and campaigns.
  • Identify community needs and develop outreach strategies to address emerging trends and gambling-related concerns.
  • Coordinate special events, awareness campaigns, and prevention activities.
  • Support grant-funded initiatives and ensure compliance with program objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, presentations, participant attendance, and community contacts.
  • Collect and report program outcomes and evaluation data.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by funding sources and agency leadership.
  • Utilize data to improve program effectiveness and community engagement.
  • Participate in community coalitions, task forces, and prevention networks.
  • Advocate for prevention-focused approaches to addressing gambling-related harm.
  • Collaborate with treatment providers and referral sources to ensure community members have access to appropriate services.
  • Stay current on best practices, research, and trends related to gambling prevention and behavioral health.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Communications, Human Services, or a related field required.
  • Experience in prevention, behavioral health, public health, community outreach, education, or related field preferred.
  • Experience facilitating presentations and training programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of gambling disorder, addiction, mental health, and prevention strategies preferred.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain community partnerships.
  • Knowledge of prevention science and evidence-based prevention strategies.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Completion of problem gambling prevention and responsible gambling training as required by funding sources upon hire.
Pay

$45,500- $47,500 annually
