Accounting Associate

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will manage essential accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial protocols. You will work closely with team members to maintain efficient operations and support the organization's financial goals.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Manage the general ledger, maintaining organized and up-to-date records.

- Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice review and payment scheduling.

- Assist with monthly and yearly financial closing procedures.

- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and workflows.

- Generate reports and summaries to aid in decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and sensitive data. Requirements

- Proven experience in accounting or a related field, with a focus on journal entries and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in managing accounts payable processes.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
