A well-established, employee-focused professional services organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its accounting function and partner closely with executive leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and driving accurate financial reporting in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
  • Manage cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis, reporting, and operational insights.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and leverage technology, automation, and AI to increase efficiency.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial presentations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures across the accounting function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with previous leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience with in engineering, environmental consulting, professional services, or project-based organizations is highly preferred.
