Job Details

Title: Accountant / Fiscal Analyst III

Level: P2 - Professional

Business Unit: Division of Administration and Finance

Location: Richland County, Columbia, SC

Pay Range: $52,526 - $65,658

Standard Working

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (may require flexible schedule to meet department needs)

Basis: 12 months

Responsibilities
  • Review and process requisitions in the University’s ERP for capital projects to ensure correct information has been submitted.
  • Assist project managers with entering receipts for approved pay applications.
  • Assist Director of Facilities Administration & Finance and other leadership in preparing state and/or internal projects through the approval process; serve as lead with amending project changes on correct forms for review.
  • Communicate the status of each project throughout the approval workflow.
  • Establish approved projects in both Facilities CMMS and the University’s ERP; update budget information according to approved budget changes.
  • Serve as financial liaison with the Controller’s Office Capital Asset team.
  • Reconcile projects to ensure accounting information is accurate in the University’s ERP and Facilities CMMS; act on discrepancies with proper departmental constituents.
  • Prepare monthly reports to demonstrate project reconciliation status and activity.
  • Pre‑and post‑project closeout documentation; submit documentation through appropriate channels to close completed projects; update project statuses in Facilities CMMS.
  • Reconcile and update monthly Facilities capital fund accounts; perform journal vouchers and journal entries as needed.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job‑related field and 2 or more years of job‑related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job‑related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
  • Experience with ERP (People Soft) and Facilities CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of accounting, auditing, banking, budgeting, financial management, or investment principles; office practices and procedures; financial statement analysis; budget development processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
