UNIV - Fiscal Analyst III - Pediatrics: Office of the Chair

Job Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is recruiting for an Accountant/Fiscal Analyst III. Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Operations, the position performs professional procurement, accounting, and related human resource duties for cost centers assigned within the Department of Pediatrics.

• Responsible for the daily fund management of assigned discretionary cost centers (25%). Extract information, interpret guidelines, set up budgets, monitor activity, record transactions, analyze data, and maintain compliance.
• Financial accuracy and integrity of assigned centers related to payroll and non-payroll transactions within Workday/Our Day ERP (20%). Verify transactions, analyze variances, approve expenditures, audit reimbursements, and apply approvals.
• Preparation and maintenance of personnel funding documents such as Payroll Costing Allocations, Payroll Accounting Adjustments, and Department Cost Allocation Logs (15%). Manage changes to effort, status, salary, promotions, and related documentation.
• Maintain all records (procurement, payroll, accounting) for assigned cost centers, ensuring audit trails and confidentiality (15%).
• Process items in ERP Inbox within three business days and prepare aspects of the Department Annual Operating Budget (10%).
• Coordinate funding of financial matters with departmental representatives and division administrators (5%).
• Review and audit procurement source documents for discretionary accounts and provide guidance and training (5%).
• Other duties as assigned (5%).

A bachelor’s degree and four years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending. A job‑related bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting courses may substitute for two years of required work experience.

Continuous: 6-8 hours per shift; frequent: 2-6 hours per shift; infrequent: 0-2 hours per shift. Ability to perform job functions in an upright position, seated position, while walking or mobile, indoors, in confined spaces, sit or bend at the waist, squat, perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders, reach in all directions, possess good finger dexterity, maintain tactile sensory functions, lift and carry up to 15 pounds unassisted, see clearly, discriminate colors, determine distance, and perform both gross and fine motor functions.

Computer literacy is required.
