Position: CFO$225-275k plus bonus, Future Partner opportunity

Charleston, SC - relocation assistance available

Responsibilities Corporate Accounting
  • Oversee a staff of four
  • Oversee the general ledger, monthly close, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts, reconciliations, and account analyses to support strong controls and clean audit and tax processes.
  • Lead corporate budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the multi-family office, including headcount, compensation, technology, and vendor spend.
  • Support cash flow planning and related financial reporting for the firm.
Fund and Investment Vehicle Coordination
  • Oversee, review and approve fund financial statements, capital account statements, and LP/investor reports for consistency with LPAs, offering documents, and fee and expense terms.
  • Serve as the main contact with third-party fund administrators for private funds and other vehicles, reviewing capital statements, NAVs, LP allocations, and waterfall calculations.
  • Oversee calculation and billing of management fees, performance fees/carried interest, and expense reimbursements between funds and the management company.
  • Coordinate with legal, operations, and administrators on fund launches, restructurings, or wind-downs from an accounting and reporting standpoint.
Compliance
  • Oversee, with the CCO, financial records and processes to ensure they meet SEC requirements.
  • Oversee all quarterly and yearly regulatory filings
Human Resources
  • Manage all HR processes
  • Coordinate hiring and termination processes, as well as payroll
  • Oversee all insurance needs for the firm
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
    Master’s degree; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with significant time in fund accounting or auditing asset managers, private funds, or RIAs.
  • Prior experience in a controllership or senior accounting role within a boutique RIA, asset manager, private equity, or hedge fund environment.
  • Demonstrated success in people/team management.
