Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing organization in Johns Island, South Carolina. This position is ideal for someone who is confident managing books across multiple entities, comfortable using Quick Books, and capable of balancing accounting work with select office coordination tasks.

The right candidate will bring professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both valued clients and subcontractor partners.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple companies, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and organized.

- Prepare and post journal entries, oversee general ledger activity, and support timely month-end closing procedures.

- Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis to verify balances and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

- Process vendor invoices and payments while managing accounts payable with accuracy and attention to deadlines.

- Track customer billing and collections activities, maintaining clear and current accounts receivable records.

- Use Quick Books to manage accounting workflows and produce reliable financial information for internal use.

- Assist with administrative office operations, including coordinating supply purchases and liaising with external IT and HR service providers.

- Interact professionally with high-end clients and subcontractors, helping maintain positive working relationships across the business. Requirements

- Proven experience in staff accounting or bookkeeping, including responsibility for core accounting functions.

- Strong proficiency in Quick Books is required.

- Background managing accounting records for more than one company or business entity is required.

- Working knowledge of general ledger maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close activities.

- Buildertrend experience is preferred, though not mandatory.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.

- Detail-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills suited to working with discerning clients and subcontractors.
