OverviewA well-established tax and advisory firm serving the Carolinas is seeking a Tax Director to lead its Real Estate Development and Construction Tax Practice in Charleston, SC. This is a leadership role for a confident, client-facing professional ready to guide a growing practice, mentor teams, and shape strategy in one of the Southeast's fastest-growing markets.
What you'll do- Lead the tax compliance process for real estate partnerships, ensuring excellence across federal and state returns
- Deliver proactive communication, insight, and solutions to clients
- Manage financial performance, engagements, and client relationships
- Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals within the team
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on strategic tax matters
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and lead process improvements
- Support business development through community engagement and networking
- BA/BS in Accounting
- CPA required
- 6+ years of progressive public accounting experience with real estate/partnership expertise
- 2+ years leading tax management teams
- Strong communication and presence, able to lead client conversations with authority
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
- Must relocate to the greater Charleston, SC area (or within a 1-1.5 hour drive)
- Competitive compensation with bonus potential
