This position is in the Veterans Administration (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Health Care Network (VISN
7), Ralph H. Johnson Health Care Systems, in the Executive Office of the Chief of Staff in Charleston, SC.
You must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of an Administrative Officer, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes planning, developing, and evaluating administrative operations; conduct and perform many of the general clerical duties of the position such as taking visitors and calls to the office;
scheduling appointments; typing, preparing, and reviewing outgoing correspondence; taking meeting minutes; maintaining files; and utilizing office automation software.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCEYou must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. in a field related to this position that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONYou must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education (in excess of the first year or 18 semester hours) and specialized experience to meet total experience requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS /WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work is basically sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. The work environment is in a typical office setting. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts and requires normal safety precautions typical of such places as meeting and training rooms, libraries, or commercial vehicles.
The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.
