Job Responsibilities
The Student Support Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Registrar's Office by assisting with student records, graduation processing, transfer credit evaluation, program updates, and records management. This position works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and academic departments to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of academic records while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Include- Support the Graduation Unit by assisting with data entry, credential reviews, degree, diploma, and certificate processing, and communication with prospective graduates, academic advisors, and college staff. Assist with graduation fairs and commencement-related activities as needed.
- Assist the Transfer Credit Unit with data entry, course research, transcript review, and the evaluation of transfer coursework and non-course credit documentation.
- Support the processing of student program and major changes by completing data entry activities, processing requests, and communicating with students and stakeholders during peak periods.
- Serve as backup support for Records Management functions, including digitizing archived student records, processing official transcript requests, maintaining student records, and researching enrollment information to support enrollment and verification services.
- Provide training support for Registrar's Office staff related to information technology, software applications, and new hardware or system implementations.
- Assist with front-line customer service by staffing the office service counter, monitoring departmental email inboxes and chat services, and responding to student, faculty, and staff inquiries
- Support multiple functional areas of the Registrar's Office during peak business periods by assisting with data entry, record keeping, processing activities, and communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position requires a bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in student services, records management, registration, admissions, academic advising, or a related higher education environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong data entry, proofreading, and recordkeeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working with computerized databases, student information systems, or other enterprise software applications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other office technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive student information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and provide support during peak operational periods.
Additional work hours may be required during peak registration, graduation, and records-processing periods. Occasional overnight travel may be required for conferences, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
