Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and strategic Sales Manager to lead the growth of our paint sales within the general industry market. This role is responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and collaborating with technical and product teams to deliver tailored solutions that support customer success. This is a home‑office–based position with substantial travel.
Key Responsibilities Market & Business Development- Support market development efforts and create clear, compelling marketing concepts—including product features and benefits—based on continuous monitoring of market trends and competitive activity.
- Implement and continuously improve marketing initiatives to support growth objectives.
- Independently manage and support customer accounts, developing a deep understanding of customer needs, requirements, and long‑term objectives.
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers by consistently proposing value‑driven solutions that differentiate our offerings and foster customer loyalty.
- Serve as a resource for customer contracts and agreements, ensuring successful execution aligned with agreed termsli>
- Maintain a strong understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and take responsibility for achieving assigned goals.
- Identify and lead corrective action steps when metrics fall below expectations.
- Work cross‑functionally with internal teams to address customer needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by leadership.
- Travel up to 75% of the time or as otherwise agreed with your supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial coatings or a closely related industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Proven negotiation and decision‑making capabilities.
- SAP experience preferred.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive, customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including to locations requiring proof of vaccination.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and complete assignments based on established guidelines and standard practices.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations, including meeting productivity standards.
- Regular, punctual attendance is required.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
- Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals may occur.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
- Must be able to communicate clearly via phone and in person.
