You’ll need 3-25 years of experience leading ground-up, multilevel, self-storage or steel-framed multifamily projects. You’ll have the opportunity to manage the construction and administrative activities associated with the field operations of a project from day one, bringing the project to completion on schedule, within budget, and per the project specifications.

ADay in the Life
- Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning before construction
- Work with the project manager to prepare a schedule of construction activities, organization structure, staff, and manpower/equipment requirements
- Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and schedule, with an emphasis on profitability
- Assist the project manager/engineer with duties including shipment of materials, equipment, and approvals of shop drawings and material samples
- Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to align with project schedules and progress
- Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any schedule changes
- Assist in the preparation of job progress and cost reports to reflect actual costs
- Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports
- Cooperate with the owner and representatives, keeping them informed of progress
- Coordinate with architects or owner representatives as appropriate for the company’s long-term interests
- Hold job site meetings with project manager and regional manager
- Provide regular updates to the project manager on progress, plans, and potential issues
- Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, and approvals
- Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases and areas of the project
- Make decisions under tight deadlines and organize people, tools, and equipment to manage multiple activities
- Demonstrate leadership, address challenges, and resolve conflicts
- Commit to quality by evaluating processes, incorporating customer input, and meeting/exceeding expectations
- Act with integrity, supporting the company, and maintaining focus on meeting customer requirements
- 5-25 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years as a lead superintendent on multiple level, ground-up commercial projects with steel framing
- Willing to travel nationally
- Computer skills: proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling programs
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence
