What will you get out of the Sanders Brothers Construction summer internship? Sanders Brother Construction is currently seeking candidates that are interested in gaining knowledge in the construction trades to work with us for summer. Construction Interns will be assigned to areas within the company, possibly on a rotational basis, for the purposes of developing operational and leadership skills in the construction field.

Interns have a chance to gain top-notch industry knowledge and explore various departmental areas within Sanders Brothers opening up potential opportunities for employment in the future. You will have the chance to secure insight from various construction areas including:

• Grading Sitework
• Asphalt Paving
• Concrete
• Survey
• Utilities

Roles and Responsibilities

• Construction Interns will participate in rotation training with the objective of learning the basic fundamentals of the construction industry.
• Hands on participation in the project, personnel management, budget management, scheduling assets, interpreting plans, employee time & attendance and safety.
• Safely operate company owned vehicles and equipment.
• May require night or weekend hours based on the project.
• Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
• Keep company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform any other general duties as specified.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Currently pursuing BS or BA preferably in Civil Engineering, Business, or Construction related fields
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.

• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
• Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
• Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time.
• Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc
