Intern

• The Intern is responsible for supporting project teams through hands‑on experience in construction management, preconstruction, and field operations. This role requires curiosity, initiative, and strong communication skills to assist project managers and superintendents with documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with team members across departments while gaining exposure to real‑world projects, providing a foundation for future full‑time opportunities in the construction industry.
• Responsible for the daily supervision of all trade contractors.
• Ensure that safe work practices are used for all construction activities and perform daily quality control inspections of all work in progress.
• Manage all aspects of the preconstruction process to establish costs for construction projects, compiling and analyzing information from clients and stakeholders to identify requirements for the design process.
• Monitor the flow of information and progress of design to ensure complete and timely issuance of deliverables.
• Assume all management and field activities for the project, including invoicing, documentation of all meeting minutes, correspondence, and submittal coordination and flow.
• Assist a professional cabinet maker in a millwork shop; learn how to read and create shop drawings, field measure, build cabinets, and install millwork in historic downtown commercial businesses.
• Oversee and coordinate the total construction effort in a wide range of building projects, either personally or through supervision of superintendents and subordinate personnel.
• Assist an entry‑level plumber under a licensed plumber/supervisor with tasks such as cutting and assembling pipes, cleaning job sites, responding to client inquiries, and performing other daily tasks.
• Work closely with the preconstruction manager during the planning phase of every project to provide continuity in all phases, conduct preconstruction meetings with assigned personnel from each subcontractor, evaluate contract documents to plan start and completion times, and determine staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
• Develop construction means and methods, ensure materials and workmanship conform to plans and specifications, and ensure that all safety requirements are met.
