Job Overview

Gana-A'Yoo Support Services (GSS) is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee a SABER federal construction project in Charleston, SC; pending contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Direct report for Project managers, attending all joint status meetings, pre-performance site visits, pre-final and final inspections.
  • Manage subcontract purchasing and administration.
  • Review material submittals and shop drawings.
  • Authority to develop cost proposals, negotiate, sign award/modify paperwork.
  • Actively meet with the contract officer or designated representative in a timely manner regarding active task orders.
  • Resolve issues that may occur throughout the job by applying knowledge and previous experience.
  • Complete detailed progress reports for each task order.
  • Supervise on-site work to ensure the project meets objectives, schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain relationship with client, customer and general manager, responding to inquiries, inspections, and requests as needed.
  • Maintain and enforce safety regulations and ensure all work is performed safely.
  • Perform incidental tasks related to the position and additional duties to support team objectives while maintaining a positive attitude.
Qualifications
  • An accredited bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering, architecture engineering, construction management or construction engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of multidisciplinary commercial construction experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of multidisciplinary commercial construction experience, with 5 years as the primary manager of a contract similar in scope.
  • Extensive knowledge of State and Federal regulations.
  • Experience working with Federal clients and knowledge of the FAR.
  • 30‑hour OSHA training and current 8‑hour refresher required.
  • 40‑hour EM 385‑1‑1 training, current 8‑hour refresher, a plus.
  • Current First Aid/CPR preferred.
  • Experience sourcing vendors, preparing scopes of work and working with estimators preferred.
  • Understanding of construction management principles.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license; must qualify for company insurance coverage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experience in Alaska Native Corporations and government contracting preferred.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting & Carrying:
    This position is generally active, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times.
  • Mobility:
    Employees will need to move around the office to attend meetings, access shared resources, and collaborate with team members.
