Estimator (Whitestone Construction)

We are a full-service construction company specializing in complete site packages and we are seeking a seasoned Estimator to join our growing estimating team. In this role you will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing bid specifications and construction drawings, preparing detailed and accurate estimates, and developing well-informed bid strategies to position our bids competitively. You will manage contracts and subcontracts, perform in-depth cost and margin analysis, and gain a deep understanding of the entire build scope required to successfully bid and win projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Evaluate plans, specifications, and subcontractor proposals to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Create bid documents, price takeoffs, and value engineering options when appropriate.
• Develop bid strategies and timelines to maximize win potential while protecting margins.
• Manage procurement of subcontracts and collaborate with legal or procurement teams on contract language, scope clarifications, and terms.
• Provide clear cost and margin analysis for executive review and decision-making.
• Support the Project Management teams after award tracking schedules, budgets, change orders, and cost performance to close out jobs successfully.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in site work or heavy civil construction. Proficiency with Bid2

Win and AutoCAD is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across estimating, operations, and project management functions.
