Transportation Construction Inspectors

A. Morton Thomas & Associates, Inc (AMT) is hiring Transportation Construction Inspectors to work based out of our Charleston, SC office, covering local and state DOT projects throughout SCDOT Districts 4, 5 & 6.

We are looking for candidates with a valid driver’s license, availability for overtime, night, and weekend work, independence and teamwork abilities, and who will pass a background check. We can train entry‑level applicants and are also interested in experienced candidates with prior SCDOT inspection experience and certifications. Pay will be based on experience and certifications.

• Verification of all work performed in accordance with plans and contractual specifications.
• Measurement and verification of pay quantities, dimensions, and specifications.
• Act as a liaison between DOT/Local Agency Project Manager and prime contractor.

• 0–3+ years of transportation construction experience with SCDOT.
• Preferred SCDOT certifications (Asphalt Roadway, CEPSCI, Earthwork & Concrete).
