Job DescriptionAs an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various ground-up construction projects. You’ll analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to ensure bids are comprehensive and realistic. Your input will be crucial in helping the company secure new projects and deliver them successfully on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for ground-up construction projects, including commercial, multi-family, healthcare, and K-12 facilities.
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of each project.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for value engineering.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and help with the preparation of competitive bids.
- Ensure that all estimates align with the company's goals for cost control and profitability.
- Monitor project budgets and assist with cost forecasting during the pre-construction phase.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, particularly with ground-up commercial, multi-family, healthcare, and K-12 projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methodologies.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze complex project plans and identify the best approach to cost estimation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though significant experience will be considered.
