A leading General Contractor is looking to add a Superintendent to its growing team in Charleston, SC. With a strong pipeline of negotiated work and a reputation for delivering high-quality commercial projects, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that is focused on long-term careers rather than project-by-project hiring. The initial assignment will be a $125M mixed-use, mid-rise multifamily development in downtown Charleston, with an expected duration of approximately three years.
The RoleAs the Superintendent, you'll take responsibility for managing day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors and clients throughout the construction lifecycle while driving programme, quality and safety on site.
Responsibilities- Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through closeout.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved.
- Drive quality control and ensure work is completed to specification.
- Enforce site safety and company standards.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate daily site operations.
- Resolve field issues and maintain strong communication with the project team.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants and trade partners.
- Superintendent experience with a General Contractor.
- Experience delivering ground-up multifamily, mixed-use or commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of scheduling, quality control and site safety.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain project programmes.
- Proficient with construction management software such as Procore.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Salary between $120,000 - $150,000 DOE.
