Role Description

The Foreman role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, including supervising crews, coordinating tasks, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. The Foreman will manage heavy equipment usage, support site layout and basic carpentry-related tasks, and monitor maintenance needs for tools and machinery.

Daily responsibilities include communicating work plans and expectations, tracking progress against schedules, enforcing safety standards, and collaborating with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors. The Foreman also assists with problem-solving in the field, documenting production and incident reports, and supporting training and development of crew members.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
  • Candidates should possess hands-on experience with Heavy Equipment operations relevant to paving and civil construction.
  • Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with crew members, management, and external partners.
  • Candidates should possess practical Carpentry skills applicable to construction layouts, forms, and related site work.
  • Candidates should possess basic Maintenance skills for identifying equipment issues and coordinating repairs or servicing.
  • Relevant experience in heavy civil construction, asphalt paving, or related fields is preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and commitment to a safety-first work environment is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documentation is highly beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training in construction is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work extended hours or varied shifts as project needs require.
