Role DescriptionThe Equipment Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and forklifts to support concrete construction activities, including site preparation, excavation, grading, and material movement. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, following job plans and directions from supervisors, and adhering to safety standards and company procedures.
The Equipment Operator will coordinate with crew members, assist with basic equipment maintenance, and help ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. Occasional manual labor related to concrete placement, formwork, and site cleanup may be required.
- Ability to safely perform Equipment Operation with Heavy Equipment in a construction environment.
- Experience with Excavation and site preparation tasks using appropriate machinery.
- Proficiency in Forklift Operation for handling and moving materials on the job site.
- Knowledge of Equipment Maintenance practices, including routine inspections and minor servicing.
- Understanding of concrete construction processes and general construction site safety.
- Valid driver's license; eligibility to operate company vehicles and equipment as required.
- Ability to follow instructions, read basic plans, and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift/move materials as needed.
- Prior experience as an equipment operator in construction or related fields preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
