Preconstruction Manager | Charleston

A rapidly growing general contractor, delivering construction projects across education, healthcare, public/municipal, and mixed-use development, is hiring a Preconstruction Manager.

This role will be focused on leading front-end project planning and supporting the continued expansion of its commercial construction operations. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected contractor with a strong pipeline of work, whilst being responsible for launching the department locally.

• Proactively identify and pursue new project opportunities across the Charleston market.
• Lead all preconstruction activities from conceptual budgeting through GMP development
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors during design development
• Evaluate drawings and specifications for constructability, cost savings, and risk mitigation opportunities
• Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates across multiple project phases

• Preconstruction or estimating experience with a General Contractor
• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, budgeting, and value engineering
• Experience managing projects ranging from $10M to $100M+
• Ability to build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships throughout the Charleston and Southeast markets
• Proficiency with industry estimating and preconstruction software
