Prospect Blue is partnering with a well-established heavy civil contractor to find an Estimator for their Charleston, SC team

This is a chance to join a collaborative estimating group that values its people and play a direct role in winning work and shaping the company's market growth.

• Prepare complete estimates for heavy civil projects of varying size and complexity, from plan and spec review through takeoff, pricing, and bid submission
• Quantify and price labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, drawing on past project data for production, crew sizes, and job costs
• Review drawings, specs, and geotechnical reports, conduct site walks, and attend pre-bid meetings
• Write detailed scopes of work, including inclusions, exclusions, and terms
• Work directly with Owners, GCs, and Engineers on pricing, proposals, and value engineering
• Build relationships and uncover future opportunities through industry events and networking (about 10% of the role)
• Lead hand-off meetings with Project Managers and field staff, and support change order pricing

• You report directly to estimating leadership and help shape the annual business plan
• The role has a strong mix of technical estimating work and relationship building
• You'll have exposure to active job sites to stay connected with field operations

Ideal background:

Heavy civil estimating experience, strong takeoff and pricing skills, familiarity with estimating software, and comfort working with owners and engineers.
